| Video Discription | The "Up-and-Over" sweep or the "Hip Bump" is one of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu's basic techniques that works well with or without the gi, in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and in pretty much every style of grappling. Learning the hip bump as described by Sensei Nardu Debrah is important because: (1) the technique combines well with the Guillotine and Kimura to create effective attack combinations, (2) provides an option when you can not break your opponent's posture in closed guard and (3) leverages your hips to apply the sweep instead of the much weaker arms.
