| Video Discription | The Best 8 Beaches in Victoria BC If you are thinking about moving to Victoria BC for the first time, you might want to get familiar with the amazing beaches in the capital of British Columbia. Vancouver Island is an incredible place to live because of our proximity to the sea and I wanted to share my favourite spots to spend some time in the summer. In this episode, we unpack the top 8 beaches in Victoria BC. Although I’m an expert in the Victoria BC Real Estate market, Victoria is my hometown and I wanted to share some of the reasons I feel this is the best place to live in Canada. Living in Victoria BC is tremendously rewarding and I hope to see you enjoying the city alongside us Victorians! Here’s a recap of my best beaches list: Intro: 00:00 Honorable Mentions A) Finnerty Cove / Queen Alexandra Beach - A hidden gem in Saanich. 00:23 B) Fleming Beach - Not much of a beach but with some fantastic activities and amenities nearby in Esquimalt 00:56 C) Arbutus Cove - a favorite of students at the University of Victoria. Great sand and skimboarding conditions. 01:38 8) Island View Beach 02:08 A CRD Regional Park in Central Saanich. Island View Beach is a great day trip but isn’t walkable in the distant island view community. Thankfully it is just a short drive from Saanichton, Tanner Ridge, and Cordova Bay. 7) Esquimalt Lagoon 02:56 Rapidly becoming the most popular beach for residents of Langford BC, Colwood BC, and Metchosin BC, Esquimalt Lagoon has a beautiful sandy beach with lovely views of the Olympic Mountains, Esquimalt, and historic Fort Rod Hill. 6) Witty’s Lagoon 04:10 Tucked away in Metchosin BC, the hike down to Witty’s Beach and distance from the core of Victoria BC are the only negatives here. This is the best tidal beach of the list today. 5) Cordova Bay Beach 05:30 An incredibly sandy and well-travelled beach in Cordova Bay in Saanich. This beach offers great views across the Haro Strait towards the San Juan Islands and Mt Baker as well as Mt Douglas to the south. 4) Dallas Road Beach 06:22 Spiral Beach, Ross Bay Beach, and Clover Point beaches are some of the best in Fairfield, James Bay, and in all of Victoria BC. The negatives are that they are a little bit rocky and exposed. When the winds pick up it can get chilly. 3) Gonzales Beach 07:13 Probably the most sheltered and sunny beach on our list. A beautiful spot on the Fairfield Oak Bay border but it can be a lively place in the summertime for crowds from all over Victoria BC. 2) Willows Beach 07:58 The main beach in one of Victoria’s finest neighbourhoods in Oak Bay. Nearby Tod House on Heron Road was the home of John Tod that ran the 100+ acre farm that occupied the region more than 100 years ago. An amazing beach - the only fault is east exposure. 1) Cadboro Bay Beach 09:23 The best beach in Victoria BC. Great amenities nearby. An excellent park for dogs and kids, and kms of the finest sheltered beach in the city. Don’t miss it!
