The complex is designed to combat both aerodynamic and ballistic targets. One launcher of the complex is armed with 12 anti-aircraft missiles. It is planned that Vityaz will replace the S-300PS (range of destruction - up to 75-200 km) and Buk-M1-2 (range of destruction - 45 km in range and up to 25 km in height).
