The countless stereotypes, lack of training in graduate programs, and its shared symptoms with other common disorders all contribute to this confusion. This has led to the decade-long average length of time to receive an accurate diagnosis. For many, differentiating GAD and OCD is a muddy process. This contributes to the challenge for clients to receive an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. In this talk, Lauren Spencer, LMFT, will cover 3 assessment strategies designed to provide clarity around this issue. And most notably, how the construct of Inferential Confusion addressed during Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) has changed the name of the game in assessing for OCD.
