| Video Discription | Chancellor George Osborne is expected to give his Emergency Budget on July 8 to represent the new government, but what is a budget? The Budget, delivered by the Chancellor of the Exchequer each year, is a major financial and economic report of how the country is doing and what the treasury will be delivering in the forth coming year. The Budget, is usually followed by the Spending Review in Autumn and then the Autumn Statement in Winter. During the speech, the Chancellor cannot be interrupted until he has finished and sat down. The leader of the opposition is allowed to respond following the speech, however, regardless of what they say, the Budget will pass through the Commons and receive Royal Assent.
