If you aren’t aware of who I am, my name is Ron and I own a portfolio of 9 different blogs/websites that cover various niches and I’m here today to answer how many blog posts you should write per month. I have my main website, OneHourProfessor.com, which gets around 19,500 pageviews a month which averages 1 post per week. Another site that gets around 175,000 pageviews a month which averages 0 new posts per week and instead I update 2-3 old posts per week. Another site that gets 68,000 pageviews per month and averages 12 new posts per week All three of these sites are a small sample size of my entire portfolio of blogs and I am showing them to prove to you that there isn’t a one-size fits all solution to how many blog posts you should write per month. But, there are some general rules you can follow in terms of how many blog posts you should write per month and today I want to cover what those are. • HOW COMPETITIVE IS YOUR BLOG NICHE?: The better your competitors' content is, the fewer posts you should have monthly when you begin. • WHAT DO YOUR COMPETITORS DO? News site vs. In-depth affiliate review sites. Think B2B vs B2C. • QUALITY OVER QUANTITY: Always take the time to create the best content on the topic • CREATE CONTENT WITH PURPOSE: Don’t write and ignore. Have a strategy for each piece of content. - SHARE ON SOCIAL MEDIA - POINT BACKLINKS TO CONTENT - FOCUS ON LOW COMPETITION AND HOPE TO RANK - PAID PROMOTION - PERSONAL CONTENT TO CONNECT WITH AUDIENCE • FOCUS ON PRODUCTION GOALS: If you’re a one person show, start with 1-2 posts per week and increase as you succeed. But, if you have a team, increase these outputs. • HOW MANY POSTS PER MONTH? - How ever much you can handle as long as it’s the best content on the topic, and each piece has a specific strategy behind it that you can manage. - IF YOU’RE A ONE-PERSON SHOW - Probably 2-3 posts per week or 8-12 posts per month - IF YOU HAVE A TEAM - Whatever your team can handle while maintaining quality.
