| Video Discription | In 1999, whilst innocently driving home from work, a fire engine T-boned my car, leaving me with multiple disabilities. One of the many things I had to get used to was not being able to go where I want, when I want. Many of the places I wanted to go to, whose access I used to take for granted, were now out of reach. A friend once said "don't worry, things aren't so bad – so many places have improved their levels of access, or are mandated to by law these days". I replied “Sure, but how do I know which ones I can visit, and which ones are still off-limits? And what made it more difficult was that everyone who spent time with me was equally, indirectly, denied access. This was so clearly the case in my life with my new wife Justine. If I couldn't go somewhere, then WE couldn't go somewhere. We have over the years become used to having a very short list of places to go together, and things to do together! So created WheelEasy, because we didn't want people in a similarly affected to have such limited choices. Now, we want to create a more inclusive Australia; to create #TheNewNormal by adding places to the WheelEasy web app. We are urging everyone to #AddOnePlace to the #WheelEasy web app when their lockdowns end (if they haven't already). If only 1 in 200 Australians add one leisure-related place to our map, we will be able to cover all Australia. But if you can do more than one that would be great. And remember, adding the inaccessible ones is important too – whilst having information on accessible places is our priority, it is often really important to know what to avoid, as much as what's okay.
