After the washing machine fills up with water, it won't start spinning. You find the washer machine agitator in your washer is not agitating. The easiest DIY repair for your washing machine not spinning is check the door switch on your washer. That's the switch that makes a clicking sound when you open and close your washer lid for top loader washing machines, and you open and close the door on front loader washers. If you don't hear the washer machine lid switch clicking, then you need to replace that washer door switch, normally costs about $30-$40 for the part. With your washing machine door switch failure mode, the reason for your washer not agitating or spinning is the switch has malfunctioned, your washing machine thinks the door is open, even when it is closed. It will still fill with water, but you can have the door open while it fills, you can still add laundry, but the washer door must be closed by the end of the water filling cycle, or your washer won't agitate.
