| Video Discription | Hey all, I figured I'd do another Lens Comparison video, this time pitting the Xeen 24mm T1.5 (Stopped down to a T2.1) against the DZOFilm Vespid Prime T2.1. The The Battle of the Wides, if you will. I've turned a complete 180 on Rokinon. For years I heavily criticized the company for putting out lenses that had no character, were cheap glasses that were ultimately glorified kit lenses. But I never really had much practice on their Xeen lineups. Recently I worked on a short that had the Xeens and I was very impressed, so impressed that I bought my own 24mm. And now it's safe to say that I'm a fan. Sure they have chromatic aberration, but the Xeens are far more controlled when compared to the Cine DS lineup. The shallow depth of field looks creamier, the flaring is more controlled and there is more contrast, and the skin tones are better. Remember that when some reviewer or other shooter tells you that the DS and & Xeens are optically the same. They're not.
