Mild as far as PexPeppers sauces go, but still packs some heat and after-burn as expected.(if you think Ortega mild is spicy, this sauce may be too spicy for you, though is mild for any heat lover) This sauce is mild enough to apply liberally without masking the taste of your food with heat, but still, brings the heat, with a delayed after burn and initial bouquet of refreshing flavors. PexPeppers describes it as “the taste of the summer”, and I would agree. This sauce would pair perfectly with a fried fish taco with cilantro and lime with a cold light cerveza with lime. 10/10 for a taco sauce. Compared to PexPepper’s “Taco Fuego” sauce, which is a favorite of mine, Pueblo Red is slightly less spicy, less smokey, and more refreshing. For me, Pueblo Red is the perfect all purpose taco sauce. If you’re searching for really really really face melting hot, try one of their habanero or Carolina Reaper based sauces.
