Zen 2 is STILL the value king (for now) It has been over 24 hours since the launch of the long awaited Zen3 or Ryzen 5000 series and the dust has settled and it has been a time of reflection and reality checks (and wallet checks) for most of us. The promise of a double digital IPC improvement over the 2000 series or Zen2 is pretty exciting and shows that AMD are making the final AM4 outing a good one. Initial release pricing was around $50 dollars different which on paper and due to covid times is understandable, but we are not really considering launch or MSRP pricing we are going to be comparing CURRENT market prices and at the moment there is often in excess of $100 difference which is a LOT of money that could be spent elsewhere and could potentially make a bigger difference in games or productivity. Especially gaming where we are mostly GPU bound. Also we should consider the potential lack of BIOS support for these new processors for B450 and X470 motherboards, which makes the 3000 series much more of a compelling option.
