Her name originally comes from the Lithuanian language, where "medis" means "tree". Thus, she was often referred to as the "Queen of the Forests". Medeina was known for her unbreakable connection to nature and her ability to control the wildlife of the forests. She was a protector of animals and their habitats, and she fiercely guarded the forests against any human intrusion or destruction. As the goddess of the hunt, Medeina was a symbol of fertility, strength, and independence. She was often depicted as a beautiful woman carrying a bow and arrows and surrounded by animals such as deer, wolves, and bears. In many myths, she was considered to be a fierce warrior and a skilled hunter who could track her prey with ease. This aspect of Medeina's personality also represented the cycle of life, death, and rebirth, as she was responsible for the balance between predator and prey. Medeina's purpose was not only to govern the animals of the forests but also to provide spiritual guidance to the people who worshipped her. She was seen as a protector of hunters and gatherers, who relied on the forest's resources for their survival. Many villagers prayed to her for a successful hunt or a bountiful harvest, and she was often associated with certain rituals and traditions that would ensure her favour.
