The Scripture teaches us that man has only three adversaries in spiritual warfare; the world, Satan, and the flesh. We don't have to fail in our battle against them, because God has given us the Holy Spirit who wants to help us every moment. But when in spite of our tireless efforts, these three begin to dominate in our life, we can only pray with complete submission "Lord we are completely helpless, only you can make us holy". Holiness is not for performance in our spiritual life but it helps us to be like Jesus.
