| Video Discription | সময়মত ন্যায্য পানি না পাওয়ায় দেশের দীর্ঘতম নদী সুরমা ও খরস্রোতা কুশিয়ারা এখন মৃত প্রায়। এছাড়া, নদীর উৎস মুখ থেকে শুরু করে বিভিন্ন স্থানে চর জাগায় এর বিরুপ প্রভাব পড়েছে সিলেটের উত্তর-পূর্ব জনপদে। নদী গবেষকরা বলছেন, এবারের যৌথ নদী কমিশনের বৈঠকে কুশিয়ারা নদীর পানির হিস্যা নিয়ে মীমাংসা হলে, ওই এলাকার কৃষিনির্ভর অর্থনীতি বদলে যাবে। ভারতের বরাক নদী থেকে জকিগঞ্জের আমলসিদ সীমান্তে দুভাগে বিভক্ত হয়ে বয়ে যাচ্ছে সুরমা ও কুশিয়ারা নদী। বরাক নদীর প্রায় ৭০ শতাংশ পানি কুশিয়ারা দিয়ে প্রবাহিত হওয়ায় সুরমা নদী এখন নিথর-নিষ্প্রাণ। Welcome to the official Independent Television YouTube channel.
