| Video Discription | Rural school leader Tamara McWilliams of Ozona, Texas, identifies some of the difficulties of working with students in a nonurban, a high poverty community. McWilliams says the poverty rate in Ozona is at 80% and that looks different in a rural school than it does in an urban district. She says the poverty rate affects the school's accountability because each child carries two percentage points on their head in testing. "Because of the rural nature of our district we don't have the resources available to us that urban areas might have," she says.
