| Video Discription | In today's video I will show you how to make the Americano AND the Negroni! I'm doing these together because they are part of the same cocktail family. It all started with the Americano in the late 1800's, which was derived from a drink called the Milano-Torino, a mix of Campari (an apéritif from Milan) and Punt e Mes (a vermouth from Torino). With the addition of soda water, it became a favorite of American tourists by the turn of the 20th century, and was soon simply known as the Americano. Fast forward to 1919 in Florence, Italy, where an Americano was ordered with the substitution of gin in place of soda water. With this attempt at making the Americano stronger, the Negroni was born! Other variations soon followed creating a whole family of cocktails, but today it's all about the original two. Cheers!
