| Video Discription | In this video I've tried out the theory that a smaller space have more cabin gain - so I replaced the sub from the tunk to rear dash, and I fold up the rear seats. Also I've figured out something else too (maybe I am right, maybe not) - I explain it below. Yes, cabin gain worked, just the overall loudness was not really as much louder / the sub was not as much more windy as I expected, so if I am right, this is the reason: my car is a sedan, so if a sub is in the trunk, the trunk itself can act like a very leaky horn, or like a series tuned 6th order bandpass enclosure's outer chamber which is tuned closely to the sub's enclosure, and it is also very leaky. This effect of the trunk is present maybe if the sub's driver itself + the box's outer dimensions are so small like mine + port faced backwards like I have. So if the sub is placed on the rear dash, mainly I've heared definetly less delayed sound: one of the main differences in sounding between 4th order and 6th order enclosures in general is basically what I've heared: more orders = more group delay: if the sub is in the trunk, I hear the "6th order sound", and if it is on the dash, I hear a "4th order bassreflex sound". So, those "+" orders are missing = reduced SPL, but my car's trunk is relatively big for the passenger cabin, so cabin gain bringed back the SPL losses caused by that "missing 2 orders", and even added a little bit "+" on SPL / wind at the peak frequency. So, once again, if I am right, this is the reason why the sub sounded just a little bit louder at the low-lows where it should sound the loudest (peak is at 21 Hz), the same is true for windyness, but the higher bass was definetly louder because of no filtration of the "seriesly ported plus enclosure effect" of the trunk + the low-low bass sounded definetly less delayed.
