| Video Discription | How safe do you feel being vulnerable? The thought of vulnerability alone can provoke one’s deepest vulnerabilities. Since it is usually associated with exposure, vulnerability may be seen as an unsafe mode of submission to uncertainty and the dangers behind it. Truly, vulnerability is the result of being so unapologetically authentic that our presentation to the world mirrors the inner world completely. The lowering of defensive guards like lies and false masks worn to appease others is unwelcomed by the mind, as each one was created as a shield of self-worth. Vulnerabilities are those things hidden from a public image to preserve one’s comfort and prevent the pain of social rejection. However, social acceptance pursued to avoid personal truths creates a stack-up of emotional vulnerabilities and even greater pain due to the lack of vulnerability to one’s own feelings. To be vulnerable is to embody the sacred feelings and beliefs that characterize one's individualism; to honor the depths of soul that have faced rejection; to allow negative emotions to be expressed and integrated with self-compassion; to dissolve all forms of denial; to experience truth with dignity and to be led by honesty; to accept the unacceptable; to allow healing to transpire in its various ways; and to allow love to become the driving force of reality.
