Monks walking by residence STORYLINE: Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert faced another grilling by police on Friday, as investigators continued to examine allegations of corruption. It is the seventh time investigators from the national fraud squad have questioned Olmert since he became prime minister. Last month Olmert announced he would step down from office to battle the corruption investigation. Police are investigating a number of allegations, the most damaging of which focuses on American Jewish businessman Morris Talansky who testified he gave Olmert envelopes stuffed with tens of thousands of dollars before he became prime minister, in part to finance Olmert's lifestyle of expensive hotels and fat cigars. Other allegations include double and triple-billing trips abroad to Jewish institutions, pocketing the difference or financing trips for relatives, a shady real estate deal and questionable political appointments, all before he became premier. Olmert has consistently denied wrongdoing. He has never been formally charged with a crime.
