One of the upcoming MCU films that have been in the works since before lockdowns changed the MCU's release schedule is Blade, with Ali headlining the property. After having starred in Luke Cage as Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes, Ali is getting another go with the MCU, but this time as Eric Cross Brooks, a.k.a. Blade. However, the reboot has faced a few hurdles along the way, including losing its initial director Bassam Tariq. As of right now, Blade will come out toward the end of Phase 5. With the Blade movie still in pre-production, many are imagining what Ali's take on the iconic Marvel hero will look like in the MCU. According to Kevin Feige, Ali was the one who pitched the idea of him starring in a reboot to Marvel Studios. While Blade will get started on principal photography later this spring, Screen Culture recently debuted a new fan-made trailer as a proof of concept.
