| Video Discription | MEL Chemistry zSpace is a science resource to help make the hardest to understand concepts in Chemistry easier to grasp and more intuitive. It does not mimic a classic lab, but provides interactive lessons where learners can zoom inside objects to see the atoms and molecules at a human scale and build their own in our makerspace. zSpace lessons are aligned with school science standards and have lesson plans and quizzes to help integrate the resource easily into class. Lessons and resources cover: ● Atoms including atoms in solids and gases and then diving into the atoms to look at their subatomic structure, and how this leads to isotopes, orbitals, electronic configuration and structures of specific atoms. It also contains a makerspace to build any atom of your choice. ● Molecules including an introduction to molecules as well as different forms of molecular representation, how to make specific molecules and a sandbox style makerspace where you can build your own molecules ● The Periodic Table including an introduction showing how atoms are structured in the table, the symbols, atomic mass and electron configuration, trends within the table and an interactive table to play and explore freely. ● Gas Laws including an introduction to avagadro’s principle and then diving into each of the 4 gas laws (Boyle’s law, Dalton’s Law, Gay-Lussac’s Law, Charles’s Law) in an immersive gas lab ● Isomers including identifying structural, cis/trans isomerisation and optical isomerism and a maker space to build isomers With more topics coming soon.
