| Video Discription | Mısırlı Ahmet's Galata RhythmHouse is now turning its direction towards Egypt's Sinai desert where the master has once retreated to after his own saying "You have to lose the rhythm in order to find it". We are hitting the road towards the deafening silence of the desert to find our feelings of joy, excitement, frustration, gloom and whatever there is about us humans and to express them through our darbukas. We will live through the most exhilarating experiences of improvising fearlessly, discovering ourselves and facing ourselves in the desert while witnessing our master's playing and attending his unique workshops in this environment where he progressed his groundbreaking technique on darbuka. We will become one with the hot sands of the desert and then in the last days of the camp we will cool our hearts at the Red Sea after listening to it in the midst of desert's silence. We will discover the desert which looks like a foreign lost planet and play rhythms under the images of many gone-by creatures throughout ages in the daylight.. and we will dance and keep beats under the amazingly bright sky of Sina with our campfire. We will open the secret doors of rhythm within the silence of the desert. Mısırlı Ahmet is inviting everyone who wants to break prejudices about themselves and about music and art, forget what we already know and leave themselves to the infiniteness of rhythm and the desert this year after having four years of successful trips to the Sinai desert with his students in 2010, 2011,2012,2013,2014. Our retreat is open to everyone who is already playing any kind of rhythm instrument, plus to those who would like to join in the wonderful magical world of rhythm, dancers and all other musicians whether you play guitar, flute, clarinet.. it just doesn't matter! If you would like to be with us, just simply tune in!
