He passed out from India Military Academy in Dec 1995. He opted for Para SF and was selected to undergo Para Probation in 21 Para SF. He was the first officer to join the 21 Para SF after 21 Maratha Light Infantry got converted into Special Forces(SF) Unit in Feb 1996.He is a expert combat deep diver and ultra marathoner. He has participated in multiple relief & rescue operations in rivers and canals. He has also participated in Op-Vijay, Op-Rakshak, Op Parakram and in North East. He has been team leader of officers like Col Kaushal Kashyap and Col Pratyush Atri both of 21 Para SF. He has been Special Force Instructor at He run marathon and ultra marathons and he ran last Bangalore Marathon 0f 42 Km. He is a keen solo bike driver and recently he drove from Dehradun to Bangalore 2400Km in just 4 days. He has served in most in hospitable terrain of Africa Desert, Danakil Depression, which 100 m below the sea level.
